Project: Website Rewrite & Campaign Launch

Challenge

GCAE's existing website wasn't doing the work it needed to do. The fall campaign — built around three urgent priorities: Rights, Respect, and Reading — had no home that felt worthy of the moment. The site needed to mobilize public school employees to join the union and show up for mass meetings, while speaking honestly to an audience that's skeptical of institutional language and short on time.

Solution

Rewrote the site from the ground up with a benefit-led, movement-oriented voice that treated educators as the protagonists — not the audience. Key decisions:

  • Hero section anchored in collective power: "Better, Stronger Together" with a rally image that showed real educators in action

  • Campaign Central section surfaced the three-part platform (Rights, Respect, Reading) with plain-language benefit copy, replacing abstract union-speak with concrete stakes teachers could feel

  • Core Values reframed as action — Defend, Win, Promote, Unite — using verbs that signal forward motion, not bureaucratic identity

  • Member testimonials added real educator voices to validate the mission and lower the barrier to joining

  • Events calendar gave prospective members immediate, low-stakes next steps (Mass Meetings, #Red4Ed Wednesdays)

  • Footer CTA kept the conversion path clear on every page

Results

Delivered a complete website architecture with copy across eight sections — from hero to footer — that supports GCAE's fall organizing push and gives the organization a platform built to convert skeptics into members.
